Year in review

I year ago I dreamt of possibilities. This season I find myself in the anguish of loss. To have loved and not have been loved in return. To become vulnerable -- open to any possibility and hoping for just one. Yet transparency in love transforms into veiled sadness.

Strength must be summoned to continue on. To smile for family and friends and hold back tears in hallways and washrooms and the wee hours of sleepless nights. There will be someone to love and who will love in return. And after a while the agonizing gnawing will cease and my ragged heart will slowly begin to mend.
